Dr. Virginia Butler

Dr Virginia ButlerDr. Virginia Butler is a Tampa native, where she attended St. John’s Episcopal Day School and Hillsborough High School International Baccalaureate Program. After graduating high school, Dr. Butler headed north, attending Wellesley College in Massachusetts, where she was a history major. After a year of working as a legal assistant in New York City, Dr. Butler moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she attended and graduated with a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. She then moved back to New York City where she practiced commercial real estate finance law for several years. It was after she got her dog Neo, a puggle, that her passion for animals was reignited and that she decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. After going back to school to fulfill her pre-veterinary requirements, Dr. Butler ultimately ended up California where she attended and graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. While she tried to stay open-minded to the array of species that veterinary medicine offered, she knew in her heart that working with companion animals and helping to strengthen and preserve the bond between her clients and patients was her calling. Dr. Butler enjoyed living and practicing veterinary medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area before deciding to move back to Tampa and closer to the family after the birth of her daughter in January 2019. Dr. Butler loves all aspects of small animal medicine but especially enjoys educating her clients on preventative care, behavior, dermatology, and management of chronic illness. She lives in the North Tampa area with her daughter and two dogs, Neo and Ginger.
