Our veterinarians here at Lakeside Animal Hospital are excited to be able to do house calls for our patients and their owners.
We definitely understand that owners and their pets don’t like coming into our office. Many animals get really stressed out during the car ride here, which makes the trip a very long one for their owners. Many owners also worry about the waiting area being full of anxious pets. Their own pets may try to get too close to the other pets or may be scared them. The wait can seem to last forever if owners are struggling with their pets.
Many owners would prefer to get all of their pets done at once, instead of making multiple trips. However, getting everyone loaded up and ready to go can be hard. Then owners have to worry about controlling everyone in a full waiting room. Multiple trips may seem like a waste of time and gas, so owners continue to schedule everyone at once, even though trying to control all their pets is stressful.
Many pets act completely differently in the office setting. Their adrenaline is high, so they might act aggressive or fearful. They may not act as sick as usual when it comes time to get examined. Or the opposite may happen. Some pets get so wound-up at the office that they get even sicker. They may get diarrhea from the stress.
Because of this, one of our veterinarians would be happy to come to your house. Many owners schedule a house call so they can get everyone examined at once and make sure they are up-to-date on their vaccinations. Many times aggressive animals act better at home. You won’t have to worry about loading your pets in the car and lasting through the long drive. There will be no full waiting rooms to cause stress. If you think your pets will be better at home, don’t hesitate to let us know.
